| "This is it," he responded. "It's for all the marbles. I'm sitting in the house loading up the pump, I'm loading up the Uzis, I've got a couple of M-16s, couple of nines, couple of joints with some silencers on them, couple of grenades, got a missile launcher. I'm ready for war."
- NBA MVP Kevin Garnett's comments regarding Game 7 against the Kings...
... hahaha the kings better watch out.. they're gonna have a 7 foot power forward coming at them with guns... i really hope the timberwolves win. the kings (queens) really annoy the hell out of me. anyways, it really doesn't matter who wins because the lakers will destroy either one.

anyways, i've been watching a lot of cnn lately and listening to them talk about the conflict in iraq. so much bullshit being spit back and forth between liberals/conservatives, euros/americans, media/politicians, etc. After listening to all of the debates, I don't know what the hell to believe . When we first declared the war on terror, I was all for it. A lot of emotions from 9/11 made me think that this was the best way to get back at the terrorists. After the first year or so, I believe it was relatively successful. We destroyed terrorist camps in Afghanistan, declared victory in Iraq, and caught Sadaam. These events boosted American moral and made us believe that we controlled the situation.
Now, a year after we declared victory in Iraq, civilians and soldiers are still dying everyday fighting against these so called Iraqi insurgents . This makes me wonder how we ever got the idea that we were victorious in Iraq. Nearly one thousand Coalition soliders have died and hundreds (soldiers and civilians) have been held in captivity since the declaration of victory. I really don't know how we plan to hand over power to the new democratic government in Iraq when we really don't have control ourselves....
i also saw the video of nick berg getting executed by the iraqi militant group. i have to say that was one of the most distrubing things i have seen . I still don't understand how a person could have such disregard for life to do that to someone else. seeing this kind of video makes me wonder how many people these militants have executed off camera.... sick people...
sorry for the serious topic, but that's what's been on my mind the past couple days. | | |
